City awaits outcome of union vote

OTTAWA — The city expects to soon hear results of its largest union’s vote on a tentative labour deal that includes wage hikes of 1.91 per cent this year and next. The city and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 503, which represents about 6,300 city workers, reached a tentative agreement late last month after 20 days of negotiations. Their collective agreement expired Dec. 31.
