Crack addict given five-year sentence for bank robberies

A 44-year-old crack cocaine addict was sentenced to five years in prison Friday after he pleaded guilty to a string of bank hold-ups in July. Mario Ethier handed a teller a note that read, “Give me money. I’m armed,” during a robbery on July 20 at the Royal Bank on Wellington Street, court heard.
