Students at Nepean High School took to the sidewalk outside their school Tuesday afternoon to call on volunteers to step in and coach their sports teams in the absence of teachers who’ve withdrawn from extracurricular activities. Some parents, meanwhile, were left wondering whether volunteer coaches would be enough to get back on the field of play the hundreds of students across the region who take part in athletics.
