City briefs: Police seek assistance after pedestrian hit by vehicle

Ottawa police are asking witnesses to come forward after a 28-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing the street in the ByWard Market early Sunday morning. The man was unconscious with a “severe, life-threatening head injury” when paramedics transported him from George Street to hospital just before 5 a.m. Police shut the street down between William and Dalhousie streets for several hours to investigate.
