Carleton says making grade data public could harm its enrolment and reputation

Carleton University says information about the grades it hands out should be kept secret because the data, if revealed, could discourage prospective students from enrolling. In a Freedom of Information dispute with the Citizen, the university claims that releasing student grade records, even without names attached, would cause economic harm by damaging its competitive position against other Ontario universities.
