Two decades after the “beautiful killer” was expected to destroy Ontario’s wetlands, purple loosestrife is the disaster that didn’t happen. You may remember its advance billing as the toughest plant in the wetland, an invader from Europe that was difficult to kill and lacked natural enemies.
