看来你对这里的gifted education不太了解。
An eight year old boy keeps his teacher constantly on her toes with his unexpected inventions and experiments. His parents are afraid he’s going to either blow the house up or burn it down.

And a 14 year old girl is passionately involved in more associations and causes than anyone can count. She’s determined to change the world, and she just might do it.

我看别的论坛，进去了以后看到自己宝贝孩子跟这些奇怪孩子为伍，家长又担心了

还有找心理医生鉴定进去的呢。 :blink:

孩子如果被迫退出，肯定特别郁闷。

I guess the question is 1) do you want your kid or kids to mingle with gifted kids all days, months and years before they go to universities? 2) do you believe that your kids have better chance or much better chance to get enrolled to topnotch universities by attending gifted classes? 3) do you believe that your kids would be happier in the gifted classes or in normal classes? 4) do you believe that your kids would be more successful in the future by studying in a gifted class than in a normal class during their elementary and secondary school years ...

I guess there will be no overwhelmingly correct or wrong answer to any of the questions, let alone the cohort of the questions in a comprehensive way.

The strange thing it seems is that the more educated the parents, the more the possibility they would choose a normal class environment for their gifted kids, and vice versa. And most parents who themselves are gifted when they were young would choose to raise their own kids in a non-gifted environment, and this is more true when their kids are educated in a western country.

For those who desperately want to put their kids in a gifted class, it is no waste of time to volunteer just one day in a gifted class, then you may have a good sense what kind of environment you are going to put your kids in.

And most parents who themselves are gifted when they were young would choose to raise their own kids in a non-gifted environment, and this is more true when their kids are educated in a western country.

这就对了。我一直不明白，哪里来那么多天才。

同意。但我觉得不错，让小孩多学点，省得每天回家就闲着，一点压力都没有。想想我们当初，这里的gifted班算什么。
