Is there anyone who live in Canada less than 5 years pass the ERC (Enhance Realaiblity Check) recently?

My company want to apply ERC for me, but since I live in Canada less than 3 years, I even can't meet the pre-screening requirement. Just want to clarify is that true? Thanks a lot.

I believe it's true, I've heard that ERC got tight-up after 9/11

我在加拿大两年半,也拿到这个ERC,而且是工作以后单位去给办的,根本没有你说的那个3年的规定。

When I got my ERC, my agent told me that I must have been in Canada for at least 5 years.

I know at least 2 people who got their ERC within 3 years of having arrived to Canada.

People, before making arguements, make sure your supporting cases were happenning RECENTLY

I believe the requirement is that you need to stay in north america (including USA and canada) for 5 years to qualify the ERC. Sometimes they will count your stay in some european countries such as British, Germany, France, etc. as well. But it may take longer time to check

Person No.1: OU co-op student, obtained ERC last summer.
Person No.2: contractor, obtained ERC in June, 2003.

Both of them came directly from China, and had not lived anywhere else in the world.

For those two people that you mention, how long did they come to Canada? Since my company told me that the ERC officer even have rejected the checking due to I have not stay in Canada for 5 five years. I have check on the website, http://www.ciisd.gc.ca/ism/text/ch2-1-e.html#Ch2203.

It sounds like true, but I also heard some successful cases in the forum, so I'd like to clarify, is it the policy changing or other reason?

I don't know anything about the policy. My impression is that there is no one set of fixed rules, rather it's on a case-to-case basis. I personally know these 2 people who I mentioned, both came in early 2000.

I am pretty sure it's possible to get Enchanced Security Check even you are just new to Canada. However, does anyone know who is in charge of the processing? Canadian & International
Industrial Security Directora (CIICD) only?
And does it have any relationship with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC)? Thanks...

Does anyone know "Enhanced Realaiblity Check" equal to "SECURITY SCREENING-- RELIABILITY STATUS" or CONFIDENTIAL PERSONNEL SECURITY"?
According to CIISD, there're 4 levels of security checks
1. RELIABILITY STATUS
2. CONFIDENTIAL
3. SECRET
4. TOP SECRET
but there's none named "Enhanced Realaiblity Check". So does anyone know it equals to which level?

I am just wondering if " you are pretty sure it's possible to get Enchanced Security Check " Why do you have a lot of questions about it ?
