The reward has been doubled to $100,000 for information on a 2011 hit-and-run death of an 18-year-old woman that remains unsolved, police announced Thursday.

The body of 18-year-old Jessica Godin was found in a roadside ditch on Sept. 24, 2011 on Du Parc Street in Fournier, about 80 kilometres east of Ottawa. An autopsy indicated that the injuries she suffered and where the body was located were consistent with being struck by a vehicle travelling east on Du Parc Street.

Ontario Provincial Police said Godin, who had been living at a friend’s house in Casselman, was last seen alive two days earlier at a nearby park in Fournier.

“Police need your help,” a news release issued Thursday by the OPP says. “The police also believe that someone has information that would help investigators in solving this crime.”

The government of Ontario initially put up a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Godin’s killer six months after she was found dead.

On Thursday, police announced another $50,000 was put up as a reward by an anonymous donor through the Montreal-based Sun Youth organization.

Since the original call for assistance, police have seized vehicles and have interviewed more than 90 people, but to no avail.

Police also turned to social media in an attempt to solve the case. In March 2012, the Hawkesbury OPP crime unit released a second video on You Tube to provide information to the public about the investigation and to make a public appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information on this case can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or Det. Dan Fedele at 613-632-2729.
