Two Ottawa men were facing a series of drugs and weapons-related charges Monday after two warrants executed June 17 in Ottawa’s south end turned up a gun and stashes of cocaine and marijuana.
When Nehemiah Campbell, 24, was arrested, police seized his 2007 Infiniti Q35 car and $2,895 in Canadian currency. He and Justice Ndatuje, 23, are jointly charged with 10 offences.
Charges include possession of drugs for trafficking purposes; possession of proceeds of crime; careless storage of firearms and ammunition; and possession of restricted, unregistered weapons.
Campbell is also charged with another count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and two counts of breach of undertaking, or failing to follow court orders.
Police seized a .38-caliber revolver, five rounds of ammunition, 94 grams of cocaine valued at nearly $19,000 and just over 99 grams of marijuana valued at almost $1,000 from two residences June 17.
One was located on Cutts Private near Hunt Club and Albion Roads and the other on the 1800 block of Baseline Road near Navaho Drive.
Campbell and Ndatuje were both held in custody by police. Ndatuje was released on recognizance of bail and Campbell was kept in custody awaiting a court appearance that was set for Monday.
