A natural gas leak in Stittsville has led to the evacuation of eight houses.
Ottawa firefighters evacuated the homes on Stegall Crescent as a precaution after an underground gas line was severed just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday. It’s believed the gas line was cut during landscaping work at a house on the street near Hazeldean and Carp roads.
Ottawa Fire Services said it expected the street to be closed until the leak could be located underground.
