One teenager is dead and another critically injured after the car they were riding in went off the road and flipped over north of Montebello Saturday night.
The Sûreté du Québec said the 18-year-old male who died and 17-year-old female who suffered serious injuries were in the backseat of a car that swerved to avoid a deer on Highway 323 in Lac-Des-Plages, Que. at about 8:30 p.m.
Lac-Des-Plages is about 45 minutes north of Montebello.
Police said the 17-year-old male driver and a 17-year-old male passenger in the front seat were not seriously injured after the car crashed into a ditch.
Police did not release the name of the teenager who died.
