The Ottawa police west district neighbourhood team conducted “john sweeps” in the Carlington area on two consecutive Fridays and arrested seven individuals in the area of Merivale Road and Rosenthal Avenue.
Six of the suspects were diverted to the pre-charge divserion program known as ‘john school.” The seventh was found to be in breach of probation and was held for a show-cause hearing.
Police said the sweeps, on Nov. 28 and Dec. 5, were both proactive and in response to community concerns.
