An Osgoode, Ont. man is dead after a snowmobile crash on a trail crossing the Garrison Petawawa Canadian Forces base northwest of Petawawa on Monday.
Steven Peterson, 46, died after his snowmobile left the trail and struck a fence post.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, said OPP Cst. Shawn Peever.
Peterson was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to an OPP press release.
The OPP are investigating the incident, and asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the Petawawa Detachment at 613-735 0188.
