Ottawa police say they have closed Hazeldean Road from Eagleson to Castlefrank roads following a single-vehicle crash that caused an electrical pole to catch fire.
Police said the collision damaged the pole, which “subsequently caught fire.”
Firefighters are on the scene, police said. City and hydro crews are also responding to the incident.
The crash did not cause any life-threatening injuries, police said. Local media were reporting that the car flipped over onto its roof.
Hazeldean Road will stay closed until the pole is repaired. Police said “it is unknown how long” the closure will last, but that they will notify the public when the road has reopened.
