Gatineau police continue to search for a motive behind a home invasion Thursday night that sent an elderly man to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Friday the break-in occurred at about 9 p.m. when three masked men entered a home on Amherst Street in the city’s Old Hull sector.
One of the suspects was carrying a gun, while at least one other man was carrying a blunt weapon.
The victim, in his 70s, was beaten and later treated for injuries to his head and arm, while an elderly woman in the home was taken to hospital for observation, although she did not appear to have been struck by the attackers.
Police have not established whether anything was stolen from the residence. There are no descriptions of the suspects.
