Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in their investigation of a home invasion at a Riverside Drive apartment in March.
In a release, police said a man knocked on the door of an apartment in a building in the 1500 block of Riverside Drive on March 27 at about 7 p.m. The suspect and apartment dweller scuffled after the man forced his way in, and the suspect proceeded to search the apartment, leaving with a few items.
Police said the occupant suffered minor injuries.
Police say there was some form of a relationship between the suspect and the occupant of the apartment, but not to the degree that the occupant knew who the suspect was.
The suspect is described as an English-speaking black male, 20-30 years old, five-feet-eight to five-feet-10 inches tall and weighing about 170 pounds, with an athletic build.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Ottawa police robbery unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5116. Those with information can also submit anonymous tips through the Ottawa police iOS app or by contacting Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
