A 78-year-old man will plead guilty to killing his wife at his next court appearance in L’Orignal, his lawyer says.
Robert Edgar plans to plead guilty on May 14 to second-degree murder in the death of his wife of 32 years, his lawyer Robert Miller said Friday.
Edgar was arrested on Jan. 30, five days after his 83-year-old wife, Zdenka Sekora, was found dead.
Sekora’s death stunned residents of the small village of Lefaivre in Alfred-Plantagenet Township, where the couple moved from Montreal nearly 30 years ago.
Miller said in February that his client and Sekora had lived a “peaceful existence” together before his arrest.
Miller also said at that time that Edgar had never been violent toward his wife and a not-criminally-responsible defence was a possibility.
