Some schoolchildren who have been training for the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend’s 5K run this Saturday got a surprise this week: free running shoes.
The gift for kids in grades one to six at Robert E. Wilson Public School came as part of the Start2Finish program.
Start2Finish says its mission is “to break the cycle of child poverty” by supporting at-risk children through their school years, “nurturing mind, body and social health so they are empowered to succeed and become role models for change.”
