Ottawa firefighters were kept on the go Friday evening, battling blazes in two areas of the city.
Firefighters responded to the first fire at 7:22 p.m. after several calls reporting smoke coming from a shed at a home on Hillview Road near Holly Acres Road.
By shortly after 8 p.m., the fire was under control. Paramedics checked up on three children at the scene and they were released to family. A fire investigator was called in.
The second fire broke out shortly before 9 p.m. There were several calls that reported an explosion, and when firefighters arrived they found a home on Sandhurst Court, near Walkley Road, with heavy smoke coming from a second-storey window.
The fire was quickly brought under control, with no injuries reported.
