Please don't generalize. I know many of my friends who pay more than 15% tip. I personally never pay less than 15% when I was in Canada and 20% is what I give here. Now, there was once an exception, at a chinese restaurant in Halifax where they put tip right into final price (I believe it was about 10% before tax, don't remember exactly, but was about half what I would have paid). I complained about it becuase it is obviously a distrust against me, their customer. But they refused to change it, so they only got half of what they would have got. No matter how good the restaurant it is, I am not going back to it, nor would I go to any other similar one.
