A Queensway driver may have escaped injury by mere centimetres Tuesday when a large piece of a forklift flew into the windshield of a moving car.
The metal fork, which police believe flew off a passing truck, impaled itself in the car’s A-pillar, or window post. Both the driver and a passenger were uninjured.
The incident happened at about 1 p.m. on Highway 417 eastbound near the Carling Avenue exit.
Ontario Provincial Police are searching for the truck that was carrying the object. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa detachment at 613-270-9171.
