A fundraiser for Nepean Liberal candidate Chandra Arya featuring former deputy prime minister Sheila Copps has been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
The evening of “food, drink and conversation” was to have been at Arya’s campaign headquarters on Sept. 4.
The $100-per-ticket event to support the former Invest Ottawa board member was to have been one of only a handful of appearances Copps will be making on behalf of Liberal candidates in the 2015 election.
There was no immediate word on whether there would be another fundraiser.
Nepean Conservative candidate Andy Wang also hosted a fundraiser recently that included his former boss and current Nepean-Carleton MP Pierre Poilievre and Calgary MP Jason Kenney. Guests to that event were asked for a minimum $50 donation.
