Ottawa firefighters responded in large numbers to what turned out to be a relatively minor, but smoky fire at a large commercial facility on Stevenage Drive off Hawthorne Road Wednesday morning.
Ottawa Fire Services said several crews responded at 2717 Stevenage Dr. at about 8:30 a.m., after smoke was spotted pouring from the roof.
On scene, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. However, the size of the commercial building trapped a large quantity of smoke which meant that ventilation will probably require some time.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the blaze. No cause has been established and no damage estimates are yet available.
