OPP seek public's help to repeat offender who has breached parole

The Ontario Provincial Police repeat offender parole enforcement squad is asking for public assistance in locating a federal offender wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his parole conditions.

Police identified the man as Matthew Land, 33, who is described as being aboriginal, around six feet (183 cm) tall, 190 pounds (86 kg). He has short black hair and brown eyes.

Land is serving a two-year, seven-month sentence for break and enter, possession of tools for the purpose of break-and-enters, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of an illicit substance. Land also has a history of violence including a manslaughter conviction.

He is known to frequent the city of Ottawa.

Anyone who may know Land’s whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP at 416-808-5900 or toll free at 1-866-870-ROPE (7673). Residents can also call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or 9-1-1.
