Yeah Trudeau's kids should stay at home alone all day. Then the conservatives will say he is a bad parent.
Trudeau's wife doesn't get paid for all the stuff she has to do as the PM's wife, I think it is fair for the government to paid for this.
I can't believe this is the only controversy. Trudeau must be doing good then.
@JasonDiggy you obviously have no kids. At least no teenagers.
@peter Griffith Justin face it.... you've been outed....
And Harper ordered a brand new armoured car for himself and his family and increased his personal security for himself and his family larger than any PM before him. JT's nannies costs wouldn't even fill the tank of Harper's armoured car. Get real Lisa.

@Buffalojump why not since it's already paid for....duh yeah go but a new one! Pointless rebuttal.
@globecare
Raitt forgot that Harper regime squandered a cool billion dollars on G20 Toronto fiasco.
Fake lake, special fence, gazebos and agents provocateurs included.
Do not forget illegal arrests and that a female journalist was threatened by rogue cops with a gang rape.
Lisa Raitt does not pass The Smell Test... and CONs still do not get it, shooting themselves in the foot once again.

Conservatives should talk about being hypocritical... amongst themselves.
Show 14 older replies
@TheFly Absolutely., never voted conservative but one this one they are dead on.
@traffic Stick with the topic if possible. Trudeau should pay for his childrens care.
It's really nothing compared to the 1 Billion$( yes you read that right 1 000 000 000$) Harper wasted to host the G20 in Toronto and Trudeau is actually busy working on serious issues so he needs some help. Big drama for nothing.

@Joe131 That is an entirely different issue.

@Joe131 wow the defence is pointing out how bad the other guy was... wrong is wrong regardless of what the other guy did.

Which is worse - disguising nannies as "special assistants" or taking them to Paris on the taxpayers' dime? Talk about "being entitled to his entitlements"! This gives new meaning to hypocrisy.
Show 14 older replies
@Chris.S.PEI Women wearing disguises in Paris probably isn't a good idea at this time.
@Bucadogg Steve liked to spend money on this his conservative base wouldn't have a problem with like security and bombing people overseas, if the house needs repairs (which it badly does) than it should get them. 10 million is still a drop in the bucket compared to steve's bombing missions (which accomplish nothjng)

What did you expect? He's a Trudeau, all take and no give unless it's your money.
@JimBob
No. A Trudeau as PM means the best of Canada is possible. With Harper, it was the opposite.
@JimBob ...Were you posting this sort of politicians economic requirements when Harper had a makeup artist and hairdresser travelling around the country and around the world with him ?
Then there was the 100 strong RCMP bodyguards, the full time photographer, the wife and kids flying to USA and West Coast to watch a hockey game.
If there were not two low paid nannies, the taxpayers would have to supply security for Trudeau's three children, plus his wife, plus cook and housekeepers, drivers...

The sense of entltilement and abuse of power begins. It doesn't take long does it?
@Richard Sharp Maybe but is it her money?
@Mashoud Nasseri Has Justin sold the limo yet?
Way to jump on the bandwagon Mrs raitt, sadly you had none of the same sentiment for your own boss a mere 2 months ago....who's the real hypocrit here.
Its a shame she was not worried about hypocrisy when Harper was in power

Let's compare lists.

Tens of thousands of Canadians pay for their Nannies and Babysitters.
Justin must apologize to Canadians and pay back the taxpayers - immediately.

Excuse me.... please tell us more about this so called Universal Day Care. It never existed.
@Fmpsportsguy Umm child tax credits went up in July. Your making us look bad dude. Chill
preaching water while drinking wine! typical liberal!
@Jachim Soyer ...He was used to that down east Food!
@Harper the White Stephen Harper's 2012 Indian limo tab was to $1.2M.
And Harper should've paid for his own "hair" (lol) cuts, and extra security...

I thought you wanted a change from Harper not more of the same,,your as bad as Trudeau.
I certainly ain't no conservative but Trudeau having us pay for his child-care like this is just wrong. Pony up dude!
Harper & the band of 40 thieves stole enough from us ; thank you very much Ms Raitt. I think Canada can pay for Justin's nannies .
Both nannies are women! Come on Justin at least get one Manny. It's 2015!
Lisa Raitt is not the Prime Minister. Her role and responsibilities, and that of her spouse (if she has one), pale in comparison to those of the Prime Minister and the Prime Minister's wife. These expenses have always been covered. What a petty bunch of small minded and immature partisans Canadians are.
@Guardian52 yeah. They should pay the elite until they have no more money! The Liberal way or the highway!
The Conservatives look very funny, as opposition critics.I hope Canada never sees another Conservative government.
@AlexHarveyBand
You may as well give up on that wish!
a $2000.00 child care benefit is a far cry from a year of salary for a Nanny. The job demands much of his time.. most of his time... so I think it fair any PM with small children should be allowed a Nanny on the taxpayers dime. We are not a 3rd world country.

@trickymyk Actually I think we are a third world economy - if not for natural resources, we wouldn't be a well off nation.

Comment was removed (of course): Obviously a government official, like the leader of the country, is different from the average person who happens to be fairly wealthy. For one, the children need security. And its sometimes cheaper to have security for the family when they are together, or in close proximity. It's also unrealistic to imagine that just any babysitter, or Nanny can look after the PM's children. So, its a fake issue but Lisa Raitt took the bait and stands to lose face.
@anti-Intellectual Free Market TheoCon Fundamentalist the children have security. Child care is the parents' responsibility, not the taxpayers.
Hey Lisa, soon as Harper pays Canadians back for having a full time hairstylist-manicurist-fashion consultant on the public dole, we'll listen to what you have to say.

Timothy Wasylko, the official chef of the prime minister’s residence, makes an annual salary between $61,048 and $72,919, according to the cabinet order
In 2006, Harper was sued for wrongful dismissal by his former chef, who claimed the prime minister never paid him for additional duties that included babysitting, washing the family car and burying one of Harper’s pet cats.

Seriously Raitt, Harper had us paying for his hair dresser, and makeup artist for years, and what about the over $5,000 a month for his electrical bills, and don't tell Canadians that his kids and wife didn't have over the top security paid for by us...and then there is that second honeymoon under the guise of a photo-op visit to India, that he and Laureen took, and he insisted on his cars being taken for a cool million...the only hypocrites here are you and the Con party.

Lisa is an air head. One of the Harper Neo Cons coming out from under the rock they have crawled under since getting thumped in the last election. People are not interested in the divisive sniping made famous by the Tories.
Trudeau is the Prime Minister of our country who will make enormous sacrifices to personal his life for the good of all Canadians. Taking his wife to world meetings is not new and when they have small children it is expected that there would be assistance from the taxpayers....
