Ottawa police said a search will likely resume today for a possible drowning victim reportedly seen falling into the Ottawa River on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called around 4 p.m. after witnesses said a fisherman fell into the waters near the Remic Rapids.
Fire rescue crews arrived to find nothing suspicious, but the initial 911 caller reported the man had actually been seen at River Street, near Lemieux Island, east of the rapids.
Seaches there were not successful and the operation was suspended in the early evening.
The only description police could provide is “a man wearing dark clothing.”
Police said they expect to resume the search for the reported fisherman with divers at some point today.
