MONTREAL – It’s status quo for the Ottawa Senators Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens.
Senators coach Dave Cameron is sticking with the same roster the club sported in a 4-1 loss to Tampa Thursday and a 4-2 win over Florida Tuesday. Mark Borowiecki will line up as a fourth line left-winger (he will be used as a defenceman to kill penalties) with Curtis Lazar and goaltender Craig Anderson will make his 14th consecutive start.
“Exceptional,” Senators coach Dave Cameron said of Anderson, who owns a 13-8-3 record, 2.76 goals against average and .916 save percentage. “He’s stopping the puck, giving us a chance to win the game. He has been exceptional.”
With a victory Saturday, the Senators would conclude their week-long road trip with a 2-2 record and could move to within four points of the Canadiens atop the Atlantic Division standings.
Following an outstanding start to the season, the Canadiens have been stuck in neutral this month, riding a four-game losing streak following loses to Detroit, Boston, Carolina and Washington.
Dustin Tokarski, in goal for Thursday’s 3-2 loss to Detroit, will start against the Senators. Tokarski was recalled from the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League due to the lower body injury to No. 1 Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.
