Canadians to benefit from expanded air transport agreement with China

OTTAWA, Dec. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, today announced an expanded Canada-China Air Transport Agreement that allows for new air services between additional cities in both countries.

The expanded agreement with China will increase the numbers of cities Canadian and Chinese airlines can serve from 12 to 18 in the other partner's territory. This will allow airlines to provide greater choices for travellers and help support increasing tourism and trade activity.

Reached under Canada's Blue Sky policy, which encourages long-term, sustainable competition and the development of international air services, the expanded agreement builds on the 2005 Canada-China Air Transport Agreement, last amended in 2013.

The new rights under this expanded agreement are available for use by airlines immediately.

• In 2014, around 1.5 million passengers travelled on direct flights between China and Canada.
• In 2014, China was Canada's fifth largest international air travel market, and its second largest single-country trading partner.
• China is part of Canada's Blue Sky policy, under which the Government of Canada has concluded new or expanded air transport agreements with more than 85 countries.

wow，12 到 18个城市，现在只有3个吧，北京，上海，和香港？以后中加航班会大幅增加，照这个协议，渥太华也许真的会有直航中国的航线，one day！

为什么不可以呢？或者蒙特利尔到上海经停渥太华。 渥太华客源不能保障呀，国内经停某个二三线城市的航班很多的呀。对于小城市来说未尝不是个办法。

渥太华到蒙特利尔小飞机一起飞就得降落，gate to gate 四十分钟，让飞洲际的大飞机经停，估计要飞过头了

最好可以和火车联营，这边上火车，到蒙特利尔机场，或坐大巴，自己开过去时间也不长，来回有点折腾
