Ontario Provincial Police have identified the victim of a collision at the entrance to a Highway 401 rest stop near Trenton, Ont., as Andra Brickell, 48, of Ottawa.
Police say Brickell’s car struck the back of a transport truck that was illegally parked on the shoulder of the eastbound off-ramp to the ONroute service centre.
The car became wedged under the truck upon impact, police said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the parked tractor trailer has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with disobeying a sign.
