Staff and customers were herded out of Carlingwood Mall on the busiest shopping day of the year Wednesday after an apparent smash-and-grab robbery at a jewelry store.
Early reports on Twitter said a witness had shouted that shots had been fired, but police said there was no shooting.
Nonetheless, customers and staff were asked to leave the mall around 6:40 p.m.
There were no reports of injuries and police were investigating.
