The 15-year-old girl was trying to find the right bus stop to get to her grandmother’s when four young men pushed her into the bushes near the OC Transpo Blair Station and surrounded her on the morning of Aug. 11, 2013.
She said she screamed, “This is rape,” and recalled that one of her attackers threatened to slit her throat if she kept yelling.
The girl’s account is in a videotaped statement she gave police hours later. The video was shown in Ottawa court on Thursday as the girl, now 17, testified against four young Ottawa men.
Warsama Youssouf, Maher Fafayi, Christian Kadima and Hanten Hersi are on trial charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and forcible confinement. All have pleaded not guilty.
The girl told police that she was followed, then attacked at the transit way and nearby bushes.
“I was screaming at them, ‘Just leave me alone,’ ” court heard.
She said she tried to push them away but felt helpless.
“They were four guys,” the girl told police.
The men ran off after a security guard spotted them.
The trial, before Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Maranger, continues Friday.
