Firefighters rescued several residents, many suffering injuries, from a fire being battled early Sunday morning in a row of townhomes and stacked condos in Orléans.

Smoke and flames were visible from 3275 St. Joseph Blvd when the fire began at about 7:30 a.m., with many callers reporting the blaze to emergency services. The fire was upgraded to a three-alarm fire just after 8 a.m.
