A family of three has been displaced after a fire in the basement of a home in Orléans caused an estimated $60,000 in damages.
Just after midnight on Monday, Ottawa Fire Services responded to a call about smoke from a two storey single-detached home at 1616 Lunenberg Cres.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one room in the basement “and managed an electrical arcing hazard.” The fire was under control at 12:20 a.m.
A family of three — two adults and one child — was evacuated. They will be displaced, but will not require victim services, said Ottawa fire.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire had not been determined.
