The Ontario Provincial Police have laid charges against the driver of a van that hit a motorcycle carrying two passengers in North Dundas on August 13, 2015.
According to police, a van travelling westbound on Belmeade Road in North Dundas Township, drifted across the road around 8:05 p.m. that day, entering the eastbound lanes. The van struck the motorcycle which was being driven by Shea Laughlin, 24, and was carrying passenger Marc Sabourin, 31, both of Osgoode. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
Charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death is Yousef Romaizan, 41, of Ottawa. He is next scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on April 5.
