An investigation continues Thursday into an early morning fire in Gatineau’s east end that was apparently caused by an unattended candle.
First responders were called to 687 Notre-Dame St. at about 1 a.m. and found flames shooting from the doors and windows of the two-storey triplex.
One of the residents suffered smoke inhalation and will be displaced.
About 10 people will be allowed to return to their apartments, firefighters say.
The fire was declared under control after about 45 minutes. Damages were estimated at $125,000.
