Police seek help locating mother, 20, and five-week-old baby

Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in locating a 20-year-old woman and her five-week-old son who have been missing since Friday.

Police said Madeline Atagootak, 20, was last seen with her baby, Elijah, at around noon on Somerset Street East.

Her family is concerned for her well-being and that of her child.

Atagootak is described as being of aboriginal origin, five feet two inches ((157 cm) tall, 115 pounds ((52 kg) with brown hair past her shoulders.

There was no clothing description available.

Anyone with information as to the pair’s current whereabouts is asked to call Ottawa police dispatch 613-230-6211. Anyone with information that could assist investigators, but do not know where the pair are, should contact missing persons unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2355 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
