Carmen Avenue closed for "police operation"

Ottawa police are asking the public to steer clear of Carmen Avenue because of an ongoing “police operation” Tuesday in the Vanier neighbourhood.

In a tweet at 2:24 p.m., police said Carmen is closed off at McArthur Avenue for the operation.

Police spokesman Const. Marc Soucy would give no details about the operation, but said no other police agencies were involved.

Carmen is a short street of two-storey apartment blocks about midway between Vanier Parkway and St. Laurent Boulevard.
