The Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man from Merrickville-Wolford, about 85 kilometres south of Ottawa, with sexual assault after a lengthy investigation.
Police said a man lodged a complaint in 2016 of sexual assaults allegedly made against him beteween the years 1986 and 1987.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday Grenville County OPP charged Robert Farnsworth, 49, of Merrickville-Wolford with one count of sexual assault and one count of gross indecency.
Farnsworth was to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on Thursday.
Police ask anyone with information about this matter to contact the Grenville OPP crime unit at 613-925-4221.
