Enjoy that morning commute, Ottawa.

Frigid temperatures are on the way, then more snow to usher us into a weekend of Christmas-clogged roads.

Check your bus trip before heading to the stop – OC Transpo has a modest number of cancelled trips – and the city warned of potentially slick roads and sidewalks. Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario was reporting delays affecting high school students in Brockville and Kemptville.

But traffic was back to normal after Monday’s mess beyond a few slip and slides – like a car in the ditch on Hwy. 417 at Vars – and only a single cancelled departure at the Ottawa Airport.

Tuesday is expected to be mainly cloudy with a high of -1 C and southwest winds 20 km/h gusting to 40 in the morning. There’s a 60-per-cent chance of flurries for the afternoon and evening and a low of -10 C.

Wednesday is a mix of sun and cloud with wind southwest 30 km/h and a high of -7C. For Wednesday night, there’s a 60-per-cent chance of flurries and low of -13C.

That’s the forecast high for Thursday, too, and it will dip to -19 C overnight.

Friday is expected to be a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -13 C.

On deck for Saturday is a forecast of more snow and a high of -6 C.
