Ottawa police have arrested and charged a dozen people with more than 50 counts to conclude an almost two-year investigation into drug possession and trafficking in Ottawa and its surrounding areas.
A combination of men and women ranging from 32 to 66 years old were charged this week with various counts of drug possession and trafficking, as well as careless storage of a firearm and possession of prohibited weapons.
Throughout the 21-month investigation, which began in March 2015, a combination of weapons including brass knuckles, a Taser and nine shotguns were seized by police, as well as more than $300,00, cocaine, heroin and various other narcotics.
Among those charged from Ottawa were Lukus Abraham, 37, Samantha Cross, 41, Peter Croteau, 66, Harvey Dalaise, 39, Dani Khoury, 37, Carlo Milito, 48, Leonardo Milito, 46, Duc Diep Nguyen, 36, Nikola Pavlovich, 35, and Alex Saikely, 34. Peter Pavlovich of Metcalfe, 34, and Jansen Morash of Arnprior, 32, were also charged.
Police said the investigation was carried out with the help of the Ontario Provincial Police, the RCMP, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal and Laval police.
