The lucky winners of this year’s Dream of a Lifetime lottery, which includes the CHEO Dream Home, have been announced.

Jack Watt is the winner of the grand prize package worth more than $1.6 million, which includes a Minto home with all furnishings by La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, $100,000 in cash, a 2017 Infiniti from Myers Automotive Group, house cleaning for a year from Molly Maid, and a $5,000 gift card from Farm Boy.

The 4,070-square-foot modern home is located at 540 Bridgeport Ave. in Manotick’s Mahogany community. The custom house features 10-foot ceilings on the main floor, a grand front entrance, curved open staircase, gourmet kitchen, and a luxurious master bedroom and ensuite bathroom.

Aaron Dinovitzer won the second prize that is worth more than $163,000, and includes $100,000 cash, a 2017 Toyota RAV4 from Myers Automotive Group, a $10,000 gift certificate from Jubilee Fine Jewellers, a trip for two to the Dominican Republic from Marlin Travel and Transat, and an Ottawa Senators 100 Level Flex 40 season tickets package.

Basil Bielawski and Angela Shelp are the winners of the 50/50 draw. The jackpot reached a total of $1,079,315, meaning they will each take home $539,657.50.

The 2016 Dream of a Lifetime Lottery raised more than $3.3 million to help the children, youth and families who rely on CHEO and the Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (OCTC).

A list of all winning ticket numbers will be printed in the Ottawa Citizen and Le Droit on Jan. 13. Ticket holders can also check their tickets online at www.dreamofalifetime.ca as of 5 p.m. on Thursday. A complete list of all winning numbers will also be available on the website. All winners will receive a confirmation letter from Miratel Solutions Inc. within two weeks outlining how to claim their prize.

Dining chandelier: Inspired by a designer’s jewelry concepts, the Theta pendant by Hubbardton Forge, available through Living Lighting, mixes textured steel, polished aluminum and LED technology for a modern industrial sculptural look over the dining room table.

Neutrals put the emphasis on the view outside, as oversized windows in both the living and dining room look out over the creek and greenspace that runs along the property. Seven-inch-wide maple plank hardwood with a matte finish (courtesy of Barwood Flooring and Mirage Flooring) creates a rustic feel, yet the airiness is anchored by plenty of black accents in the furnishings.

Kitchen deck: The main level living space extends to a roomy deck off the kitchen, where glass-panelled railings don’t impede the view of the creek.

Island: The island was the starting point for the kitchen. Bookending it with butcher block oak sections allowed Daniel Gauthier of Potvin to maximize the island’s footprint without having to use a countertop with a seam. He also carried the quartz countertop over the front and onto the drawer faces for an unusual waterfall effect.

Great room: Neutrals put the emphasis on the view outside, as oversized windows in both the living and dining room look out over the creek and greenspace that runs along the property. Seven-inch-wide maple plank hardwood with a matte finish (courtesy of Barwood Flooring and Mirage Flooring) creates a rustic feel, yet the airiness is anchored by plenty of black accents in the furnishings.

Play room: The play room offers lots of choices for kids, from a climbing wall by Rock Werx to a music stage, their own TV and a funky circular hanging acrylic chair beside a round cut-out looking to the pool table next door and framed with a circular bookcase.

Pool table: The basement is all about fun, including a pool table that separates the kids’ area from the grownup space.

Wet bar: A repeat of the pantry cabinetry, the matte black finish in the wet bar is paired with a high-gloss one for an edgy rustic feel. A hanging wine rack made from the same rough-sawn oak veneer as the home theatre wall was inspired by the modern industrial look and black accents sought throughout the home.

Staircase: A key feature is the curved staircase that spans all three floors. Pulled away from the wall and with open risers and oak treads supported by matte black stringers mimicking a wrought iron look.
