An elderly man has died after he was struck and trapped between two vehicles in Orléans Wednesday morning.
Ottawa Paramedic Service was called Prestone Drive near Amiens Street at 10:46 a.m.
“The patient, an elderly male, sustained catastrophic leg injuries,” the service noted in a release and said that communication officers provided first aid instructions over the phone in an effort to help control the heavy bleeding.
and firefighters extricated him while paramedics continued resuscitation.
However, despite wahat the paramedics described as “aggressive resuscitation,” the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ottawa police are investigating.
