Ushers and box office staff at the National Arts Centre have reached a tentative deal with its ushers and box office staff, averting a potential strike.
The NAC said in a news release that the four-year agreement includes a general wage increase, as well as other improvements.
The Public Service Alliance of Canada, which represents the 109 workers, had warned Thursday that a 72-hour strike notice was “imminent” after talks stalled.
The staff had been without a contract since June, 2016.
Key unresolved issues were wages, work hours and scheduling, benefits and overtime pay.
