More than a dozen people have been forced from their apartments because of a fire in a six-unit building in Gatineau.
Firefighters were called to a low-rise apartment building on Rue le LeBreton at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday and found smoke pouring from the windows. One of the tenants said he heard an explosion in the building’s basement electrical room before the fire spread to upstairs units.
No one was seriously hurt in the fire. Officials estimate the damage at more than $150,000.
