Suspicious package probe closes section of Kent Street

Police shut down Kent Street between Gloucester Street and Laurier Avenue after a bystander called in a suspicious package on the street at 12:16 p.m.

A chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive (CBRNE) unit made up of Ottawa police and RCMP members is on scene along with firefighters and paramedics, police said.

Police are not giving a description of the package but said it is small and was left unattended outside a building in the area.
