Three people and two pet cats are temporarily homeless following a stubborn fire at 2789 Springland Dr. Saturday afternoon.
Ottawa Fire Services were called shortly before 2 p.m. after a number of 911 calls for smoke and fire visible from the garage of the ranch-style home.
Responders immediately declared a working fire, and had the main body of the blaze under control. Subsequent work tracking possible spreading took another half-hour.
There were no reported injuries and a fire investigator is looking into the fire.
Damages were estimated at $75,000.
