The owner of a poutine truck suffered burns to his hands and face when his vehicle caught fire on Friday night.

Ottawa Fire Services responded to a 911 caller reporting the chip truck on fire in front of 2160 St. Joseph Blvd. at 8:45 p.m.

Firefighters confirmed that the owner had used an extinguisher to put the fire out but had sustained non-critical burns to his hands and face.

Firefighters tended to the owner’s injuries until paramedics arrived and assumed patient care.

The patient was taken to hospital by paramedics.
