A man and woman are charged with forcibly confining and pimping out a girl who went missing from Ottawa before being discovered in Barrie, Ottawa police said Thursday.
Police say the victim went missing from Ottawa in April. She was rescued by Barrie Police, who were responding to a call for service, and taken to a safe place. Ottawa Police took over the investigation and identified two local suspects.
The force’s human trafficking unit has charged Tyler Floyd, 30, and Amanda Mailloux, 28.
The pair appeared in court Tuesday facing charges including trafficking in a person under 18 by recruiting and exercising control, materially benefiting from sexual services, advertising another person’s sexual services, distributing child pornography and forcible confinement.
Floyd was also charged with a second count of forcible confinement and assault causing bodily harm.
