You’re not dreaming: It’s expected to be a gorgeous weekend and, for once this summer, Ottawa is on track to break a record we can all cheer.
Friday and Saturday are forecast to hit 28 C, which will feel more like 33, if humidity is taken into account. There’s a mix of sun and cloud Friday but pure sunshine Saturday and lows of 14 C.
Sunday should sunny and 29 C, Environment Canada predicts.
After spending the summer tweeting about rain, local weather historian Rolf Campbell noted Thursday that it was the second day of what’s forecast to be Ottawa’s longest ever run of days over 26 C after Sept. 10. The record, sent in 1942, is five days; we’re forecast to get seven.
Unusual late summer warmth forecast for #Ottawa. The last time we had 5 consecutive ~28? days after September 10th was in 1942. #OttWx pic.twitter.com/PumufmYhko

Can all of September be like this please. Heck, bring it into October too. Finally feeling like we are having summer. #ottweather

Finally. We're breaking records for something other than cold or rain or snow. #ottweather https://t.co/sQnXUUsQzX
